書法與篆刻是我國極具東方特色的造形藝術，擁有數千年的發展歷程，傳承至今，惟非當今主流發展藝術，且無顯著商業價值之下，形成特殊的邊緣藝術。科技發展迅速，若不適時的結合應用，並提升一般大眾欣賞的興趣，書篆藝術很容易因為缺乏實用性而更加被忽略，形成一股惡性循環。雖然國內外亦不乏相關推廣的藝文團體，每年亦有相關比賽等宣傳推廣活動，但礙於領域的差異，專職於書篆藝術的人才對於資訊科技的掌握與應用仍嫌不足。

造形藝術與資訊處理技術研究中心（以下簡稱本中心），志於作為書篆人與資訊科技的溝通媒合平台，讓資訊人能欣賞藝術、使書篆人運用科技，培養兼具藝術學研究與資訊科技應用能力之人才。能有效率地運用資訊科技蒐集、整理與開發利用文獻資訊，促使書篆藝術走向更精緻化、科學化的研究本質與創新發展。本中心以專屬規劃流程保留書篆相關史料文獻，將對書篆相關資料作有效的保留與傳遞。保留書篆藝術本質結合成長快速的資訊科技，透過網際網路等媒介宣傳本中心宗旨與期望。

Background
Calligraphy and seal carving are plastic arts with distinct Oriental characteristics, boasting thousands of years of history and heritage. However, they are not currently mainstream art forms. Coupled with a lack of significant commercial value, they have evolved into a unique form of "marginal art." With the rapid development of technology, if these arts are not integrated with modern applications in a timely manner to enhance public interest, they risk being further marginalized due to a perceived lack of practicality, creating a vicious cycle. Although there are many arts and cultural groups promoting these fields domestically and internationally—hosting annual competitions and promotional activities—there remains a significant gap between the disciplines. Professionals dedicated to calligraphy and seal carving often lack proficiency in the mastery and application of information technology.

Our Mission
The Plastic Arts & Data Processing Research Center (hereinafter referred to as "the Center") aims to serve as a communication and mediation platform between calligraphy/seal carving artists and information technology. Our goal is to enable IT professionals to appreciate art while empowering artists to utilize technology, thereby cultivating talent capable of both artistic research and technological application. By efficiently using information technology to collect, organize, and develop literary resources, we aim to drive calligraphy and seal carving toward a more refined and scientific essence of research and innovative development. The Center employs specialized workflows to preserve historical documents related to these arts, ensuring the effective conservation and transmission of relevant data. We are dedicated to preserving the essence of these arts while combining them with fast-growing information technology, promoting the Center’s mission and vision through the internet and other media.

背景

書道と篆刻は、わが国が誇る東洋の特色豊かな造形芸術であり、数千年にわたる発展の歴史を持っています。しかし今日まで継承されてはいるものの、現代の主流な芸術分野ではなく、また顕著な商業的価値も乏しいため、特殊な「辺境芸術（マイナー・アート）」という形をとるに至っています。科学技術が急速に発展する中、適時にこれらを結びつけ応用し、一般大衆の鑑賞への関心を高めなければ、書道・篆刻芸術は実用性の欠如によりさらに軽視され、悪循環に陥る恐れがあります。国内外には関連する普及団体が多数存在し、毎年コンクールなどの広報活動が行われていますが、専門分野の違いという壁があり、書道・篆刻の専門家による情報技術の習得と応用は、依然として不足しているのが現状です。

当センターの宗旨

造形芸術・情報処理技術研究センター（以下、当センター）は、書道・篆刻家と情報技術をつなぐコミュニケーションのプラットフォームとなることを志しています。情報技術者が芸術を鑑賞し、書道・篆刻家が技術を活用できるようにすることで、芸術学の研究能力と情報技術の応用能力を兼ね備えた人材を育成します。情報技術を効率的に活用して文献情報の収集・整理・開発利用を行い、書道・篆刻芸術をより精緻化・科学化された研究の本質と革新的な発展へと導きます。当センターは、独自のプロセスで書道・篆刻に関する史料文献を保存し、関連資料の効果的な保存と伝達を行います。書道・篆刻芸術の本質を守りながら、急速に成長する情報技術と融合させ、インターネット等のメディアを通じて当センターの宗旨と展望を広く発信していきます。
